1. Brush your teeth at least twice each day.
Brushing your teeth is one of the most important ways to maintain good oral hygiene. Brush thoroughly, sweeping from the gum line towards the edge of the tooth. Better yet, invest in an electric toothbrush whose bristles do the scouring for you. You should brush your teeth at least in the morning and at night. If you can squeeze in an extra brushing session after lunch, do it.
2. Floss your teeth frequently.
You may not be able to floss every night, but it’s a good idea. At the very least, floss your teeth every other day. Flossing extracts the bits of food that get wedged between your teeth. If you leave those bits where they are, they will begin to eat away at your teeth and cause cavities. The bacteria can also cause infections for dental implants. Be faithful with flossing, and you’ll have much better oral health. You’ll also have better breath!
3. Change your toothbrush.
Every month or two, toss your old toothbrush in the trash and get a new one. Your old toothbrush gets full of germs and bacteria, and it needs to be trashed and replaced every so often. If your teeth and gums are sensitive, choose a toothbrush with soft bristles.
4. Use mouthwash.
Rinse your mouth occasionally with mouthwash. It’s a good way to sanitise and neutralise any bacteria that you didn’t clean out when you brushed and flossed. Swish the mouthwash around in your mouth for a while, then spit it out in the sink. You’ll have a cleaner mouth and fresher breath!
5. Avoid too many sweet drinks.
An excessive amount of specialty coffee, sweetened tea, soda, juice, and other sugary drinks can really harm your teeth. Sugar is very detrimental to teeth, especially if you don’t brush your teeth right away after consuming those beverages. Limit your intake of sweet drinks if you don’t want to have cavities.
6. Go to see your dentist in Singapore.
